The Billboard Top 100 had four songs mainly in Spanish by 2016 compared to two in 2015. During the height of Despacito's popularity in 2017, however, 19 mostly Spanish songs made it to the top 100 In 2020, there were 41 songs. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017. In the year following, popular artists began working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018), while Madonna worked on Medellin together with Maluma (2019). Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for some artists during the year the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, were keen to keep the look. The genre often incorporated electronic dance and other styles.
